Ice Fishing

2009 was a great season on the ice! Although the ice was late, we enjoyed some great fishing, and lot's of ice into March. We want to thank all of our clients for a great season, and look forward to seeing them in 2010!

When you book an ice fishing trip you will enjoy all of the benefits of fishing with Orion Outfitters. Not only does this include the ice shack, gear, bait and a hot lunch, but you will also enjoy a campfire and lots of great memories, as well as some excellent fishing! You will not be disappointed!

We offer all inclusive ice fishing packages. All you need to do is hold a valid Maine fishing license, and dress warmly. We can even pick you up, and drop you off if needed.

Licenses can be purchased here or online by visiting the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife website.

Heated Ice fishing shack

Power Auger {we drill all the holes!}

All traps, jigging rods and fishing gear

Bait

Guide

Coffee and snacks

and a hot lunch cooked on the ice.

You will enjoy a great day of fishing and a unique experience as well. We provide a campfire on the ice {weather permitting} and turn a typical day of ice fishing into an unforgetable trip!

The possibilities for ice fishing are endless here in Western Maine!

We fish for both warm water and cold water species including:

Salmon,Togue,Brook,Rainbow, and Brown Trout as well as Splake

Large and Smallmouth Bass, Pickerel, Pike, Perch and Cusk.
